You may know me as one of the organizers of the Great Arnprior Trash Hunt, one of the many kitten fosters with Arnprior Cat Rescue, or one of Mallard's witches during the Witch Walk. Maybe we've crossed paths at a community event, or while I've been out walking Thomas.
Hello, I’m Alexis Young
My interest in local connection and municipal governance actually took root before I even moved to Arnprior, when I found myself paying closer attention to how communities function and are held together.
That curiosity led me to complete a Master of Arts in Public Administration, focusing on the relationship between municipalities and other levels of government. It also influenced our decision to make Arnprior our home.
Since then, I've spent five years working as a public servant — and I chose to put my volunteer time toward this community directly, serving on the Environmental Advisory Committee. Together with fellow committee members, I contributed to Arnprior becoming a Bee City and to securing a grant for the pollinator meadow near the marina.
I’m looking forward to the opportunity to continue serving this community and its residents.
